Dungeon Clawler+ Strategy Guide & Beginner Walkthrough (iOS / Apple Arcade)

Master the physics-based claw machine, build unstoppable item engines, and conquer every floor!

Dungeon Clawler combines roguelike deckbuilding with claw machine physics.

Dungeon Clawler+ brings a fresh twist to the roguelike deckbuilder genre on iOS. Instead of simply drawing cards, your weapons, shields, and potions are dropped into a physical claw machine pit. Your survival depends on how effectively you navigate item weight, clutter, and claw physics while building a lean, high-synergy build.

Whether you're struggling to clear the early levels or looking to tackle high-difficulty runs, this walkthrough covers everything you need to know from basic claw controls to top-tier synergies.

Watch: Dungeon Clawler Mechanics & Gameplay Overview

1. Core Mechanics & The 3-Step Turn Strategy

Before dropping the claw, pause and inspect the pit from top to bottom. Every turn should follow this strict prioritization rule:

  1. Read Enemy Intent: Look at the enemy's attack value above their head. If a heavy hit is incoming, prioritize grabbing Block/Shield items first.
  2. Aim for Clean Catches: A reliable 10-block shield on top of the pile is better than risking an awkward dive for a buried 30-damage sword.
  3. Predict the Tumble Path: If you miss a target, ask where the surrounding items will slide. Use the claw's edges to nudge clutter aside before making your main grab.
Pro Tip — Physical Material Physics:
Pay attention to liquids in the machine! When water, ink, or lava fill the pit, wood and plastic items float to the top, while metal items sink straight to the bottom. Use this mechanic to naturally sort your items!

2. Top Characters & Best Perks

Best Beginner Characters

  • Sir Bunalot: High base survivability and forgiving defensive options. Ideal for learning item physics without getting punished instantly.
  • Count Clawcula: Heals directly through damage dealing. Great for aggressive playstyles where offense doubles as sustain.

S-Tier Perks to Always Pick

Perk Name Effect & Strategy
Magic Mirror Triggers the first item picked up each turn twice. Widely considered the single strongest perk in the game.
Golden Armor Increases maximum health by +2 for every 10 coins held. Synergizes massively with economy runs.
Bargain Reduces shop rerolls and item upgrade costs. Stacking 3+ Bargain perks renders shop items virtually free.
Vampirism Provides crucial passive healing to keep your health pool full against late-game bosses.

3. Deckbuilding & Machine Capacity Management

The biggest beginner mistake is taking every reward offered. An overfilled claw machine leads to clogged turns and empty grabs.

  • Keep Your Machine Lean: Regularly visit Shredder Rooms to destroy weak starter items (like basic Shivs).
  • Focus on Multipliers Over Flat Stats: Items or perks that multiply strength or double triggers scale far better in deep dungeon floors than flat +5 damage add-ons.
  • Leave Passive Board Buffs Alone: Items like Wood Oil boost surrounding shields while sitting in the pit. Grabbing them actually removes their passive buff from the board!

Golden Rule for Dungeon Clawler:

Attack when safe, shield when threatened, and trim useless items whenever possible. Boring, clean grabs win runs—flashy combo gambles leave you exposed!
