I may be biased- I may be one of the few people who was lucky enough to demo the game at a convention to year ago. I spent nearly an hour playing it then, and I love playing it now. Like some others have said, this game is a work of art. It’s fun to see and hear. Presentation overall is top notch so kudos to you guys. :) Now I have one question, I have to know- how do you beat the crystal dragon?! The lightning section is so hard it’s almost impossible to get out unscathed, and even when I do survive I can’t kill the dragon. It bucks so much I can’t stab it fast enough and it seems to only be very vulnerable when it’s eyes glow. I’ve only gotten close once, got all the eggs, but it bucked so much I couldn’t finish in time. It part of why I’m so engrossed with the game. Just a little hint, please? :)
Game is super fun but when I use a controller I use my stand on my phone case to stand my phone up, but unfortunately when I have my phone standing up the screen is upside down. I made sure screen lock was turned off so it’s definitely the game. This is the 3rd APPLE ARCADE game that doesn’t allow the screen to flip. This game a Hot Lava are the 2 that really annoy me because I really want to play them with a controller! I don’t understand why a company would make a game where you can use a controller but then keep the game locked to only one orientation lol.. MAKES NO SENSE. Fix ASAP for 5 stars.. PLEASE 🙏 Update: STILL NO UPDATE to add a “flip screen” option or just allow the screen to flip when turning the phone over!!! I don’t understand how this has been looked over. I literally haven’t played it because the touch controls are confusing since the right corner is split up into 3 different jump actions. This is the type of game where playing on a controller makes the entire gameplay different and much more enjoyable. Pleaseee fix this issue.. as stated above Hot Lava updated and fixed the issue immediately, so I know it’s possible! UPDATE 2: Thank you for the response devs. I’ll just have to get a portable stand to use for this game 😂 Update 3: thanks devs, you guys are awesome! 🙏🏼👊🏼
As auto runners go, this is a blast. The graphics are cute and the animations are fun. Kind of remind me a bit of Sonic the Hedgehog actually. The music is really the standout though, the chiptunes are right at place here and all the songs are something to get in to. One problem I'm having is the shop keeper keeps telling me I can upgrade my water tank, but when I push "upgrade water tank" he just says, "you can upgrade your water tank" again. Clicking on water tank doesn't seem to change anything and there's no confirm button to proceed. Not sure if there was a new update or something, but that's the one roadblock I'm facing right now. Can't wait to play more games by you guys otherwise!
I’m totally biased! I Love this game! It reminds me of robot unicorn run, (another game I love) but better. The game play itself is great, it can become somewhat repetitive however with all the items you can collect as well as collecting all the teeth and egg chards, it keeps me engaged. The only reason why I didn’t give this game 5 stars is bc there are glitches when I get to the store. I have been trying to upgrade my water tank for three days now, it doesn’t give me to option to confirm the upgrade, ive also purchased some outfits, and when I go back to the store the outfits I previously purchased were no longer available. This specific glitch ( the clothing) I only noticed today. All in all, love the game play, the store in the game makes me irritated. Hope others enjoy!
I have not been able to put this game down since I downloaded it. What seems like a simple concept continues to evolve into an intricate adventure that rewards players for honing their skills. The art in this game is NEXT LEVEL. The hand painted textures and painstaking frame-by-frame animations are nothing short of a masterpiece. The music is spot on and drives you through each play through. The enemies are varied and interesting. THE POWER-UPS are super cool and unique. And, there are plenty of secrets to be found. On each run I find some thing new that makes me smile with wonder. This game has all the qualities and heart that I love in retro games from my childhood but feels new and polished and silky smooth. This game alone makes the Apple Arcade subscription worth it to me.
This game is a work of art. Not only does it look and sound amazing. The feeling you get when playing is awesome. Killing dragons is just cool and there are a lot of upgrades you can get to make it easier get through the levels. The control are simple but you begin to realize the depth of the control system the more you play and realize how to perfectly control your character to do what you want to do. There is so much to find in the worlds and you realize after a long while the depth of this game. Secret items, secret places, and secret ways to win. This is one of those games you could play for a lifetime and never completely master.
Earth knight is an incredible feet in gaming, simple controls, exciting action, and addictive game play. I often find myself with a new upgrade right when I figured I should stop playing telling myself that I will do just one more, as I joyfully play and hum along to the incredible chip tune soundtrack. Don’t sleep in this game, get it wherever you can. I played this a few years back at a gaming event and have been waiting to get my hands on it again, and I’m so happy to see the style has been improved upon and the action has only gotten better. Serious contender for Game of the Year, I’d still a late addition.
I might have to sue the developer for the damage to my phone. I’m getting to into it I find myself squeezing the crud out of the left side of my screen to make myself fall faster. This game is the best of its genre. The music is fun and engaging. The graphics are very interesting. The twists to the genre are enough to make it fun again. Usually with this type of game, you have to buy an upgrade, or a package for stamina, or boosts or something. The great thing about this being in the Arcade is it’s absent all that. The grind to gain those items through the gameplay is the fun part.
1. Context I don’t know anything about the story or things I need to do beyond dragons attacking and that there are two characters that are willing to do something. Why am I in a spaceship? Why am collected dragon eggs? What value do they have? How do I defeat a dragon? What value does doing so have? Do the atmospheres represent levels? Do need to kill a certain amount of dragons in the atmospheres? Who is the shop keeper? What are the other items? How do I get them? 2.Buttons: This is not intuitive at all. When I think about buttons, dashed are what I think of. Why can’t buttons show up the the transparent joystick when the characters are diving to another dragon? You may not be able to use A B but what about j for j for jump G for glide or something? 3.Loading screens: Why are the loading screens soooo long? Once I am in the game I don’t need a button walk through When I restart can’t I just be dropped on the dragon or start exactly running? Why the long theatrics every single time? 4 let me flip the screen!!
I don’t know. I think Apple Arcade and the developer of EarthNight are emphasizing its very nice animations and graphics to distract people from the game’s boring gameplay. Of course the game looks great and shares a lot of with classic Sega and Nintendo games but think about what’s happening in the game and what your role is. You pretty much just control when the character jumps and when they slow down. It means it is just like a runner game. I am glad this isn’t an infinite runner but it’s still something that doesn’t force you to think much or make meaningful choices. The developers also tried too hard to force some kind of faux nostalgia with the soundtrack. That Nintendo chiptune sound quickly becomes annoying and boring. IMO it would have been better to include a full sound range modern track and only add aural motifs if you want it to remind the player of old games. I mean, what’s the use of the detailed and awesomely animated dress when the rest is just ok? Also, this is just my subjective opinion, but the bald bearded guy looks too strange. I don’t get the style.
